‘How to Write’ books? I devour them. I always think there’s more to learn, and I love hearing other people’s take on writing and characters and so on. But do you? What’s your favourite? What’s the best/worst advice you’ve ever been given in a ‘how to write’ book?
I really like Joanne Harris' 10 things book. The fact that she used to be a teacher really shows - I think she must have been a good teacher too. Lots of things to think about but also lots of white space for thinking.

I love them, and still find them useful even after 45 books. Save the Cat Writes a Novel and Story Genius are probably my favourites.
I found Steve King's On Writing useful. I've just bought Into The Woods by John Yorke... still hoping for that best seller, haha!
I've just started The Artist's Way which is apparently really useful. I loved Bird by Bird as well.
