This week’s #SJsTwitterBookClub featured author Laure Van Rensburg (@Laure0901), who popped in to talk about her amazing psychological thriller “Nobody But Us”.
I asked Laure if she’d give us a spoiler-free, tweet-length introduction to the book. She said, “Ellie a NYC student & her much older boyfriend, Steven are off for their 1st holiday together to a secluded cabin. It should be the perfect romantic weekend, but they are deceiving each other. The weekend takes a dark turn & one might not make it out alive”
Sounds intriguing? The book is fantastic. Laure said, “I really wanted to play with the trope younger woman/older man relationship & turn it on its head & shift the power dynamics. I spent months with Ellie and Steven living inside my head & me analysing them to understand their motivations.”
@sarahj_garden asked, “What was your writing process like with #NobodyButUs? And how long did it take you to write?” Laure replied:
