The inaugural write-in was a great experience. I was … thankful that there was no pressure to “share”.
- writing group participant
Next Sunday (February 11th) we will have our second Compendia writing group. For those that didn't attend the first, this is aimed at anyone who has some writing they’d like to get done. It can be literally anything — fiction, non-fiction, their Substack or even a tricky report for work they’ve been putting off or some email they need to polish off — and is great for those who’d like a focussed hour in which they can concentrate in the (virtual) company of others in the same situation.
How does it work?
We’ll probably use the first part of the session to chat about how we’ve got on since the last session. But here’s an overview:
— We all log on at the same time. Cameras on if you can bear it.
— We’ll chat for a bit, and this is an opportunity to talk about any questions or issues you may be having. Microphones unmuted for this bit, but for the really shy I’ll try to enable text-based chat.
— We’ll spend some time writing, in silence. Again, cameras on if you can bear it.
— A few minutes round-up at the end.
This will be for my paying subscribers. The next few dates (all times UK time) are:
Sunday, February 11th, 6pm -7pm
Sunday, March 10th, 6pm -7pm
Sunday, April 14th, 6pm -7pm
I’ll send a link out to all paid subscribers a day or so in advance, and ask anyone who has any particular topic they’d like to discuss to flag it then.
If you’d like to join but are currently a free subscriber, then please consider upgrading your subscription. As an added incentive, I’m offering a whopping 30% off the price of a subscription! This makes it less than 80p per week, and you’ll get access to unparalleled writing support and the complete archive of my posts. But hurry! The offer is only available for the next few days, so click subscribe now!
I can’t wait to see you on Sunday! Happy writing…
Steve
